NIKON Z 9
The Nikon Z 9, seen here with NIKKOR 24-70 f2.8 S lens
The Nikon Z mount is the largest available full frame mount, enabling apertures up to f0.95. And with the FTZII adapter you can take advantage of the full range of F mount lenses too.
It’s the camera that has been winning awards and getting five-star reviews everywhere. The new Nikon Z 9 takes full-frame mirrorless technology to the next level and offers the complete package for demanding professional photographers.
The Z 9 is the most advanced camera ever made by Nikon, and the numbers are truly astounding: a new 45.7MP full frame CMOS sensor, shooting at up to 120fps, video in RAW 8k, a 493-point AF system, native ISO range of 64 to 25600 (expandable to 32-102400 equivalent) – the list goes on.
All this combines to create a professional camera that will never let you down. Housed in a magnesium alloy skeleton with weather sealing, the Z 9 is ready for action even in the most extreme conditions.
For pros who work with movement, such as news, sports, wildlife and fashion, the all-new autofocus is phenomenal. The Nikon Z 9 has a 439-point AF system that includes 405 auto-area AF points – that’s five times more than the Z 7II. Eye detection locks on no matter how small the subject is, while 3D tracking means the camera follows subjects with incredible precision, reacting instantly to changes in speed or position in the frame. And, with speeds of up to 120fps with full AF/AE (supported by over 100 Nikon lenses), you’ll never miss the vital shot again.
Another innovation is the lack of a visible shutter on the Z 9, which means you can shoot without any interruption at all, with a genuine continuous real-time view via the world’s brightest electronic viewfinder.
If you’d rather use the monitor, it has four-axis tilting and the info display automatically rotates when you switch to shooting vertically.
Those familiar with Nikon DSLRs such as the D6 will be on familiar ground holding and using the Z 9. The layout of controls is almost identical, so anyone switching to mirrorless will find it seamless. Although 20 per cent smaller than the D6 the Z 9 is supremely balanced, even with larger lenses, and incredible battery life lets you shoot all day.
For pros who shoot video the Z 9 sets amazing standards. You can record full-frame 8k and time-lapse video in-camera, with RAW 8k at 60fps available via a firmware update, while 4k footage can be shot at up to 120fps. The AF/AE system is available in full while filming and footage can be stored in variety of formats, including ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes RAW HQ and Nikon’s own new N-RAW, which keeps file sizes down.
Storage is via dual slots that accept CFExpress Type B cards and network options, including full-size HDMI, provide the fastest transfer speeds in the field.
With an expanded range of NIKKOR Z mount lenses plus the ability to use F mount lenses with the new FTZII mount adapter the new Nikon Z 9 will take your work further and expand your creativity in ways you never thought possible.
