Join the #zcreators

Nikon’s new global online community, #Zcreators, was founded to connect visionary artists across the world through creative stories captured with the revolutionary mirrorless Z system. Photographers, Nikon Ambassadors, influencers, and filmmakers are invited to showcase stories and images on social media channels, with the technical capabilities of Z 6, Z 7 and Z 50 at the heart of the content. You can share your visual journeys with the Z system by tagging photos, stories and videos with #Zcreators and #NikonProEurope. Visit nikon.co.uk now to see the first wave of #Zcreators images from European photographers.

INSIGHT

let’s stay in touch

As Joel Marklund says in this magazine, keeping work and life balanced in the imaging business is a tough game and not a 9-5 one, either. You can only be truly successful if your job feels like a hobby to you, but if your livelihood suddenly depends on your work, it gets difficult to see the fun side of things.

How to win in the current pandemic is the question we are all struggling to answer. Because we all love photography or videography so much, we get hit where it hurts the most. And that’s exactly why we can’t give up. We need to go back to what we do best, get out of our comfort zones and be creative again.

Look at subjects differently, use new methods away from your familiar processes, or even focus on different audiences and communicate your message differently. What seem like negatives can be turned into positives and then who knows what will happen in your future? I hope this magazine helps you to stay inspired. For now, let’s all stick together, and please feel free get in touch with us:

Nikon CELEBRATES women in photography

For the second year running, Nikon is supporting one of the world’s most coveted photography prizes. The Marilyn Stafford FotoReportage Award celebrates female photographers who document social, economic and environmental issues around the globe. Run by FotoDocument, a non-profit arts enterprise, and founded by pioneering photojournalist Marilyn Stafford, who began her career in the (male-dominated then, and now) world of photojournalism in the 1960s, the award recognises female talent and the power of photography. Anna Filipova won the 2019 award for her story on scientific research into climate change in Svalbad, Norway. Along with Anna’s prize of £2000, a further seven entrants received honourable mentions for their work. Visit fotodocument.org for details of past winners and the forthcoming 2020 competition.
